Provision of Wash Infrastructure

Modern Architects for Rural India (MARI) has seamlessly aligned its mission of sustainable rural development with the Provision of WASH Infrastructure project. With its deep-rooted commitment to improving the quality of life for marginalized communities, MARI has taken a holistic approach to enhance hygiene, sanitation, and water management in schools.

By leveraging its expertise in community engagement and behavioral change, MARI ensured that the project was not just about infrastructure development but also about creating lasting impact through education and awareness. The organization developed IEC materials, conducted teacher training programs, and formed WASH clubs, empowering students to become hygiene ambassadors in their schools and homes.

MARI’s execution strategy focused on inclusive participation, involving students, teachers, and local communities to instill sustainable WASH practices. By conducting classroom sessions, competitions, and community outreach, MARI ensured that hygiene awareness extended beyond schools into surrounding households. Additionally, by integrating green corners, groundwater recharge pits, and hygiene corners, the initiative aligned with MARI’s commitment to environmental sustainability.

Through collaborative efforts with stakeholders, hands-on implementation, and continuous monitoring, MARI has successfully transformed school environments, making them healthier and more conducive to learning while fostering a culture of hygiene and sustainability.
