MARI played a crucial role in the successful implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination drive in targeted slums. By leveraging its strong community networks and grassroots presence, MARI identified vulnerable populations, addressed vaccine hesitancy, and ensured seamless execution of vaccination camps.
MARI collaborated with ASHA workers, SHG/SLF leaders, Anganwadi workers, and local authorities to conduct community assessments and outreach programs. The organization actively supported PHCs in managing vaccination data entry through the CO-WIN app, improving tracking and monitoring of vaccine coverage. Additionally, MARI facilitated decentralized vaccination camps and doorstep services, ensuring accessibility for all.
Through its community-driven approach, strategic partnerships, and data-driven execution, MARI contributed to achieving 98.28% first-dose and 97.58% second-dose coverage, ensuring maximum protection against COVID-19 for underserved populations. This initiative reflects MARI’s commitment to public health, equitable healthcare access, and sustainable community development.
"Guided by MARI’s values of inclusivity, resilience, and community empowerment, the project ensured equitable access to medical and economic relief, safeguarding the most vulnerable against the impacts of COVID-19."
“The project successfully mitigated the health and economic hardships of COVID-19 by ensuring widespread vaccination, medical support, and community engagement, reinforcing MARI’s commitment to building resilient and healthier communities.”
