Provision of WASH Infrastructure

16 Government schools were covered under the Renovation of toilets and handwash stations with running water supply in Primary Schools. Established 2 green corners and 3 groundwater recharge pits across the Schools. Awareness and educational inputs provided an appropriate and improved WASH behaviour amongst students, teachers and community representatives, especially parents of school. students in selected Primary as well as High schools. 3928 (boys 1778 and girls 2150) students from 11 High schools and 1311 students (boys 689 and girls 622) from 5Primary Schools benefitted from WASH infrastructure improvement and educational interventions. 403 classroom sessions were organized in 11 schools on WASH behavioural change with 10988students (4333 Boys and 6655 Girls) attending these sessions. Organised a One-day Teacher training programme for 12 teachers from 09 schools on the importance of WASH education. Hygiene corners were established in 10 High schools equipped with hygiene materials.WASH clubs were formed in all 11 schools and conducted 11 short workshops with the members. 124 houses visited surrounding the area of 11 schools and sensitized the community on WASH Behaviour. Held competitions (drawing, elocution, essay writing) for students in 9 High Schools on the occasion of special days (for eg. World Water Day). Supported by : HCL Foundation Operational Area : 10 High Schools and adjoining 5 Primary Schools in Hyderabad (presently with 4300 students Goals: To enhance WASH awareness and behaviour amongst the students of the selected GOVT., schools and their families by ensuring adequate and sustained access to WASH facilities and appropriate behavioural change communication Objectives :
  • To improve the MHM practices amongst the girls’ students in 10 High Schools
  • Developing IEC material and promoting behavioral change amongst students directly and their families indirectly for sustained WASH infrastructure in selected schools of Hyderabad.
  • To inculcate practices on Solid Waste Management amongst students.
  • To sensitize COVID-19 preventive behavior
Students acted as change agents and influenced the hygiene practices of parents and siblings  

Goals

This project aims to promote biodiversity, enhance soil health, improve water retention, and provide a sustainable source of income for farmers, by combining the elements of agriculture and forestry.
