    28 Slums in Hyderabad. 14 slums in Cherlapally Cluster and 14 slums in Dammaiguda cluster.

Objectives:

  • To Help, Improve, Health Seeking Behaviour and Prevent any new Infections amongst All HRGs.
  • Promote Safe Practices and provide better access to Healthcare Services from Government Institutes.
  • Increase knowledge levels on STI/HIV/AIDS amongst targeted HRGs.
  • Empower & strengthen the Community & community-based Organizations to offer support with their common issues.

Achievements :

  • Regular communication is maintained with 3495 individuals from high-risk communities in the promotion of safe practices and access to healthcare services from Government Institutes.
  • 95:95:95 Strategies implemented in all project services.
  • Regular Medical Check-ups were conducted for 2958 population.
  • 3065 persons are covered under HIV screening &14 persons were provided support for STI treatment.
  • 104 HIV-positive persons are regularly followed up and guided on treatment.
  • 153 High-Risk Group Members were facilitated to get ration supplies.
  • 10FSWs and 4TGs were facilitated to secure support for starting self-employment units.
  • Advocacy meetings were organized with various Government agencies and other organizations to address the needs, concerns and issues of high-risk population.

Objectives:

  • Promotion and strengthening of community cadres and organisations
  • Enable 10,027 families in 28 slums to access basic documents and Entitlements
  • Develop 6 model slums with improved basic amenities (water, sanitation & waste collection)
  • Improving basic living conditions of 1904 families of Rohingya refugees in 32 Camps
  • Learning centres for children and health emergency / referral services through building community cadres and institutions.
  • Collaborating with government authorities and key stakeholders in three Clusters of Hyderabad, Telangana

Achievements: 

  • Two Basti Vikas Sahaya Kendras established as enabling centres for the communities.One Basti Vikas Sahaya Kendra (BVSK) at Cherlapally and other Basti Vikas Sahaya Kendra (BVSK) at Dammaiguda.

  • Till June 2024 conducted 13 awareness camps in 13 slums with the communities. Enhanced awareness and demand from the communities in 28 slums for availing their rights and entitlements.

  • Developed Baseline tool and we derived slum wise details of all documents and entitlements along with slum level basic information.

  • We identified drop out children from Bastis and joined them in govt schools with MARI's role in doing it. By June 2024 a total of 98 children got enrolled in govt schools with our intervention.

  • In refugee community by June 2024 we have completed 1380 house visits to create awareness on MHM and WASH.

  • Three CFLS (Child Friendly Learning Centre’s) are establised in refugee community two of them in January 2024 and one in May 2024 and total of 135 children from three centres are availing the service.

  • Supporting 314 children of 6 pre school centres by providing them with supplementary nutritiuos healthy and hygiene food and providing recreational actvities for the children and preparing them to next level of formal education in schools.

Programme Outcomes:

  • 30 Basti Mitras, 28 Basti Vikas Manches and 2 Sahaya Kendras function actively to support 10027 families in 28 slums.
  • 5000 persons from 10027 families obtained basic documents and certificates needed for claiming entitlements.

  • 4000 persons (women/youth/children/street vendors/waste collectors/construction & informal labour) from 10027 families availed entitlements (insurance, pension, e-shram, labour welfare scheme, livelihood support, scholarship, admissions in Navodaya / KGBV /Residential schools).

  • Six slums developed as models with improved basic amenities – water, sanitation, drainage and waste collection services.

  • 600 refugee families have adequate domestic water supply; 800 families have improved access to community toilets.

  • 1000 families practice safe water & sanitation handling and 570 children (3-6 age) have gained care and early learning services (Pre-School).
