MARI has strategically aligned itself with this project by leveraging its expertise in community mobilization, grassroots capacity-building, and advocacy to improve the living conditions of marginalized urban slum dwellers and refugee families. Through the establishment of Basti Vikas Sahaya Kendras, MARI has created accessible support centers that serve as a bridge between communities and government authorities, enabling thousands of families to secure essential documents and entitlements.
By actively engaging in awareness campaigns, baseline assessments, and educational interventions, MARI has facilitated access to government schemes, ensured children’s enrollment in schools, and provided structured learning environments through Child Friendly Learning Centres (CFLCs). The organization has also played a crucial role in improving water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices within both slum and refugee communities, conducting extensive household visits and awareness programs to promote safer and healthier living conditions.
MARI’s collaboration with government authorities, key stakeholders, and community-based organizations has resulted in tangible improvements, including model slum development, enhanced access to public services, and strengthened community leadership through Basti Mitras and Basti Vikas Manches. By integrating its values of empowerment, inclusivity, and sustainable development, MARI has successfully executed a people-centric approach, ensuring that vulnerable populations gain agency and long-term resilience in their socio-economic landscape.
"Empowering marginalized communities through inclusive development, MARI strengthens grassroots leadership, enhances access to essential services, and fosters sustainable solutions for dignified living."
